With the hand holding the voltaic spear, it looks like she is holding it with one finger.

Feet pointing inwards together, looks slightly off - almost like the weird stance indie kids pull at concerts.

Only main concern here is that her feet look like hooves. If you look at her feet the flesh is going over/around the shoe.

You guys make me lol hard going all ape over her pics. Criticizing esp those two cartoons is akin to "Minister Cho GLF HB monk NM"

I think she obviously can do better than those two middle pics which are obviously cartoons and seem like they were done a while ago.
Go to DeviantArt and crit some serious artists if you want to feel like a serious art critic.

Sarra: Your lines are pretty fluid and you should definitely stick to raster. Vector tools kill a lot of what you have going for you. Also, you should probably put "no crits plz" on the two middle pics because there are a lot of srsbzness people out there who can't help trying to make themselves sound pr0 by critting them.

Gogo CA.org if you want a website that sounds more reputable. The only posts you'll be able to make there will be ones trolling crap artists telling them how baed they are.
Also blackeri, cosmosue, adonihs, wishmistress, nykolai...there's another artist whose name escapes me at the moment but she does some amazing work and does a lot of stuff for book covers in China...edit: remembered, it's peachysticks.

Point is, there are in fact a lot of amazing artists on dA that do professional work in the art field. Just because people post crap there doesn't mean you can dismiss the great stuff.

Whoa. Wtf. How did this topic turn into a flamefest..?

Gotta agree with Espadon here, Sarra is just posting some doodles, no need to go so far. It's not like she's asking people to pay for it or anything :P.

While I love C&C, there is no reason why you can't be civil while critiquing. There are definitely great things about her art, as well as flaws.

@Sarra, your doodles are great, keep it up. However, I do agree with one thing zenrgy said, don't expect to get 100% positives with internet forums. Don't take critique as people talking trash about your art, internalize it, use it to get better. Don't need to call everyone who gives negative comments a hole either :\

@ZenRgy and the rest, I think the problem here is suddenly everyone just appeared in her topic and t-downed the topic without any real substance. Try giving some pros and cons the first time around, and people wont confuse your comments with random topic thrashers. There are plenty of "baed" stuff on these forums, some of my old crap included, but try to give something constructive for every negative comment.

And about the actual doodles: I like 'em, especially the monk. I'm pretty terrible with anatomy myself, so I can't really help there. They are stylized, but that's not a bad thing at all. I'd like to see more :P

Adonihs is popular and works professionally but I wouldn't rank him up there with the top echelon; he has something of a shaky foundation and it shows through on his original works. I guess that's why he does an inordinate amount of poster reproductions.

But I agree with Verene 100%, theres a difference between constructive criticism and just plain bashing. But you also have to not feed the trolls, because as you've seen it only encourages them more.

It's a public forum, if you post something you should expect both negative and positive responses to just about anything you can say. Everyone has an opinion and on forums it's easy to express it. Regardless if you're not asking for C&C, most generally people are going to give it, because we enjoy the artwork and the majority of the people who posted semi constructive criticism have good intentions. We want to see her improve or keep a certain style we like and see more of her artwork. Your argument of "she's not asking for you crits" is like saying "she's not for any response what so ever".

Bold part = Criticism. The people who posted one line "The middle ones look bad" or anything along those lines should be ignored. For those of us who actually took the time to decently explain why we didn't like them, should be considered. I never said in my post they're bad, I simply said that I much prefer the other ones because the flat color and the lines take a lot away from her style.

This pretty much sums up my feelings. Don't post something if you can't handle people giving criticism, or random fags who post things like: "Middle ones are terrible". Our intentions are to help you improve, not to discourage you from drawing/posting.

Okay...I come back and this has turned into a flame fest. I really hate when someone posts their hard work (or creative work, whatever you want to call it) for others to enjoy and they turn it into a flame fest.

Criticism is one thing, saying "this sucks, gtfo you fail, that's just horrible" is another. Don't do the latter, you're just making yourself look worse than usual.

Thanks to espadon, sierra, and the few others who understand how to give constructive criticism.

And sorry if I have zero tolerance for the d-bags with 'she looks like she got raped' comments - I have a pet peeve concerning sniveling boys with the maturity of seven and a half year olds posting trash via internet to make them feel like their penises are larger than irl. I just can't put up with it. It's probably cause of all the shitters in HA I've gotten tired of.

And by the way? I'm really barely what you could call an artist - it's just a hobby for some times, so really more than anything I'm an art enthusiast. I spend more time looking at art than drawing it. If someone else had posted similar pictures as mine, and I had seen them here on guru, I personally would have enjoyed seeing them for my own entertainment. That's the only reason they went up... I figured someone else would find it neat to see how someone would attempt to draw our Guild Wars people. and comments ARE welcome ~ Espadon gives me something to think about, and sierra makes a valid point (yep that program sucks for coloring..) while being respectful and letting me know what they do think I have right, and should continue to do.

Don't post something rude, or negative and non-constructive, especially when I have NOT ASKED for criticism, and then cry about it when I tell you to gtfo.

You might want to take a look at getting hold of Painter for colouring your work, it replicates a lot of media such as pencils.

The rit is crying out for more work.

They are cute....especially the Rit, I like the style and I think they would look much better if you dug out Photoshop and set to coloring them using it. Dramatic lighting would also help them look a bit more solid too.

The way the VS is drawn by you is really nice. The bigger curvy horns make it look more menacing in a way and combined with that mesmer and shield your just asking for trouble

Oh and btw that rit= <3 hotness

The point of C&C is to give them to an artist who is willing to receive them. Not to make them mad. You're supposed to help them with it. If you just make them mad on purpose they will go defensive and not listen to your critique anyway so what's the point? Best critique is given sandwhiched between two positive comments. There are people who have had enough of oneliner comments saying "Nice!" and want to hear the harsh non-sugarcoated stuff but those people usually ask for it specifically. I personally have a lot of respect for people who take the time to give proper critique and even go very indepth with it. That just means they actually looked at your work for more than 2seconds.

Sarra, I used to react strongly to imbecile comments too when I was starting out and the reception was always the same: "Stop being a whiny artist" "Grow thicker skin" "Take every critique given to you". Daisuko's comment was stupid so just take it for what it is and laugh it off. Zenry may not be an artist from what I know of(?) but his comment wasn't so bad. He was trying to help although he forgot the sandwhich rule.

As for your pics. I really prefer the pencil sketch work. Keep up the strong pencil skills. You can see the persons handiwork and personality best from their pencil sketches.

ok im actualy goin to critique your work, not just be a flat out ass

ok main problem with colored pics
1: it has flat color and it make it look very ummm childish(no affence) put value in it & it could be alot better & not have asses like ZenRgy say it sucks
2: legs in them are kinda spaghetti like, they are wayyy to bent, mainly the monks
3: your hand on the rit has no value & the fingers kind of look broken :S (draw your hand OVER & OVER to get it down, they made us in art school :S)
4: in the colored pics, there is no white of the eye, erase some of the skin tone in them
5: the "awkward pose" on the mes is i guess is a pretty unnatural pose

i hope that helped
nice pics & i hope that was more helpful then hurtful
